Dear All ... 06/12/13
It seems that some people didn't completely understand my short message last Wednesday.
Simply, we have managed to get costs down so that we can reduce the total cost of the trip by £20 per choir member going. Max has details of your revised December payment to bring you up to date. Since the trip is to be "cost neutral" this has no effect on our choir funds.
Please keep on fundraising and maybe we can have another pleasant surprise before we go.
Now, as promised last Wednesday, please find attached an information document for you to read. I've attached the same document in several formats, one of which you should be able to read. The .pdf is an Adobe format for which you need to download the appropriate application that you'll find HERE if you haven't done so already.
If you really, really can't print it and really, really want a hard copy please let me know.
As usual, any additions/questions please get back to me.
Many thanks
Peter
Hello All …
Here’s an update on the French Trip.
It seems that the organ at Laval Cathedral that we were unable to view on our fact finding trip in April is not up to the standards we will require for our performance. So, since the organ at St Leonard's Church in Fougères was satisfactory (apart from some surmountable “challenges” with visibility) we have decided to ask if we can perform the Rowland Singer’s concert there instead.
This has a couple more advantages to this in that we will all be able to pre-view this venue (it’s about 10 minutes walk from our hotel) and the acoustics were marvellous (maybe even better than Laval). There’s quite a lot about St Leonard’s on the internet – it’s a lovely church.
The coach company are booked (Woods Coaches were the best price of the seven companies that I contacted). I am now waiting for definite figures for the ferry crossing costs (prepare yourselves for an early start – the ferry leaves at 8:15 am from Portsmouth!).
I have also obtained quotes from our preferred hotel and provisionally booked rooms. I will check that you’re happy with my proposed room arrangements when we return after our summer “break”.
Now for the bad news – we need another payment to cover deposits that are due very soon. So, please would you let Max have another £45 per person as soon as we return to choir practice - this will cover deposits that are due on 10th September.
Finally, here is a budget schedule of payments per person that I will be asking for prior to our trip …
October 30th - £40 January 29th 2014 - £40
November 27th - £40 February 26th - £40
December 11th - £30 March 26th - £40
This will take your total payment to £295 per person by the time we leave – this was the figure quoted to you at the presentation. However, depending on how much more fundraising goes ahead, the later payments should be reduced (I’ll let you know later when the committee have decided how to allocate the fundraising money).
If you intend to pay Max by smaller, more frequent instalments than these please work them out for yourselves.
If you've any questions on this please either get back to me by email or give me a call.

Our trip to France is now very much full steam ahead...
Details of the presentation held by Peter and Helen can be found below...
Fundraising...
Fundraising is ongoing for this trip and the more we raise the less it'll cost per person to actually get to France!
We currently have lined up... Bonus Ball (run by Beth), Yvonne's Pamper Evening 6th June, BBQ 13th July, Lucky Number (to be drawn on the open evening 26th June), Pat's Posh Nosh (profits)...
We are always looking for ideas and these can be run by anybody in the choir (not just the committee!)... feel free to start your own!
Below is our current fundraising pot... we've almost reached £1600 already... £2400 (and a tiddley bit) to go until our target of £4000 is reached.
