We had a great Christmas season with three concerts (outlined on the poster to the right). Helen (our MD) was our guest soloist at the two smaller concerts entertaining us with some jazzy Christmas piano solos. Our guests for the Assembly Hall concert were Lancing Brass who entertained with some Christmas classics.
Vox Nymburgenis came on a return visit to the UK in September 2017. They had a great time in the UK and the choirs have made friends for life. They were welcomed with a BBQ at Helen and Beth's house where they couldn't believe the MD was cooking on the BBQ for them! We enjoyed singing a join concert with them on the Friday evening, this was followed by a little social time including buffet in the Charles Dickens pub. On the Saturday Vox sung their own lunchtime concert to a large audience in Christ Church, Worthing. We had an 'afterglow' in East Worthing Community Centre with chilli cooked by Beth (for 70 people!) and a buffet provided by some of the Rowland Singers. Renato (one of our basses) made an amazing celebration cake.
Our summer concerts went down a storm. We were supporting two local young singers, Emma Stevens and Abby Fell who delighted the audience with their solos and duets. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house for their finale - A Boy Like That from West Side Story. These girls are two to watch out for in the future!
We had a great Easter 2017 season which saw us taking a good part of our UK repertoire to Prague. We couldn't sing Mozart's Requiem in Prague due to the timing of our visit so instead we added Vivaldi's Gloria to the mix of our other Easter hymns and songs.
